I lived on Bryant ave ,corner of Tremont.All apartment houses up to E180.Salesmen would knock on Apts. and sell small bottles of perfume.Mostly kids bought bought them for Mother's day. The price ranged up to 1$.Did you ever see/buy any of these

No John, they only sold vacuum cleaners and religion (Jehovah Witnesses) and Girl Scout cookies, not
on Mother's Day.

Hi Barbara. No ,I doubt that mom would want a vac,scruboard,or anything like that.These guys made A living going even for the small coins(kids). They come around at Christmas also.Maybe your Tremont side was "ritzer"than us West Farms lowlifes

Ha.......I doubt it. Our rent was $49/month- 4th floor walkup.
When my dad lost his job during the recession, he sold encyclopedias ...... that didn't last long.....but we got a set.....hard to imagine with all this technology, that we had to look everything up, subject to subject.

Hey Barbara.Kids(and some of OLD (read 25+) all but live inside a phone.When Ex, Britannic folded it's tent,that was really the end.BTW $46.80 was our rent.Stay well
