Mystery Photo 220 Return to topicsPost to this topic

I think you are guessing the gated gardens at 50 E. Mosholu Pkwy. That was a mystery photo about 10 years ago. This one reminds me of Peter Cooper Village in Manhattan. Maybe the same architect?

I went back and found the photo for 50 E. Moshulu Pkwy. You're absolutely right.

This looks like the Hillside Homes. There was an opening between Fish and Seymour Aves (between Boston Rd and Hicks St.) that led to a playground.

This picture reminds me of the series of buildings referred to as the "coops". They are located north of Allerton Ave on Bronx Park East and extend to the next block. The series of buildings in the complex were inhabited by Eastern European Jews who migrated to the U.S. prior to WWII. I read stories about the complex many years ago. Just a guess.

I thought of the coops too. My grandparents lived there. But they had regular windows, not casements like the mystery pic.
